Context:
ArcelorMittal is engaged in a very ambitious and challenging Decarbonisation target to reach net zero in 2050. Intermediate objectives have been set in 2030, -25% at group level and -35% at Europe level and will be reached thru an unprecedented steelmaking transition.
This upheaval requires a brand-new approach to the overall supply chain that will be completely transformed, especially for renewable energy, green hydrogen, green DRI, CCS (carbon capture and storage).
The spearhead of this transformation is the newly created Decarbonisation Partnerships & JVs.
In coordination with Operations, Government Affairs, Procurement, M&A, the objective is to both fulfil ArcelorMittal decarbonisation targets and initiate vertical integration.
Within Europe-Flat organisation, with a Group mandate, Decarbonisation Partnerships & JVs has the mission to create, implement and develop JVs:
- In each of the businesses: Renewable Energy, Green Hydrogen, Green DRI, CCS
- To foster innovative solutions and cross-fertilize Manage & Develop JVs from their initial business scope
ArcelorMittal is looking for a Renewable Energy Intern (6 months).
The successful candidate will support the Renewable Energy Business Head and the business developers & will have the following responsibilities:
Your missions:
- Develop market intelligence
- Publish regular internal monitoring/reports
- Prepare analyses to support the development of JVs’ businesses
- Model business plans and analyze the profitability of individual projects
- Analyze funding alternatives for the projects and secure the funding in compliance with the applicable procedures and agreements
- Develop, improve, enlarge tools to monitor the performance of JVs
- Develop, improve, enlarge models to provide forward view for the activity of JVs
- Support & ensure that JVs are compliant with the applicable requirements (legal, reporting, internal Group requirements, etc.), including the elaboration of budgets and forecasts
Your profile:
- Master’s degree in Science, Finance, Business Management, Economics or Engineering
- No required experience, but sector interest highly valued (renewable energy, steel industry, etc.) Fluent in English, other European languages are a plus
Your skills:
- Financial modelling and analysis
- Very good knowledge of Excel
- Good knowledge of other MS Office tools (Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to navigate through a multi-cultural, international environment, developing solid relationships with different stakeholders
- Open minded, quick learner
- Good communication (discussion, presentation, meetings preparation)

Geographical scope of mission:
The position is based in Luxembourg and reports to the Renewable Energy business head.
