The European Investment Fund (EIF) is seeking to recruit for its Investor Operations Management unit of the Portfolios & Liquidity Operations division, at its headquarters in Luxembourg, a Trainee.

Specific Post Environment:
You will operate within the sector of funds-of-funds investing in private equity and venture capital, and mainly be involved in an automation project of investor distribution calculations.
Overall objective:
Your overall objective will be to:

Actively support the investor operations team at EIF in the project of automating distribution calculations for some equity investment products, by means of assisting in data management targeted at automation (i.e. entry, calculation, reconciliation and monitoring)
Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the senior of the team, you shall:

Contribute to the automation of investor cashflow data management in a leading alternative investment software.

Participate to system enhancements, by means of populating investor cashflow operations and in this respect contribute to the finalisation of their historical input.

Participate in the testing and validation phase of an ongoing automation exercise of distribution calculations for some equity investment products focused on private equity and venture capital funds.
Expected outcome:
-
Obtain an in-depth overview of EIF’s private equity and venture capital structures in a leading EU economy and other funds-of-funds with a regional focus;

Learn about EIF investor cash operations processes and procedures (capital calls, returns of funds including their cascade on investor level etc.) in the context of data monitoring and automation;
- Get a first-hand experience on several major data computing, storage, reconciliation and reporting systems e.g. e-Front, Azure, Business Objects, Tableau, etc.).
Qualifications:

University degree (or on-going studies at an advanced stage) in Finance, Economics, Business, Data Management or any related subject;

Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office suite, notably Excel;

Knowledge and understanding of EIF’s mission and activities;

Knowledge of Business Objects and/or e-Front would be a plus;

Prior experience in banking/finance or the (alternative) fund sector would be a plus but not a requirement;

Excellent written and spoken English. Knowledge of other EU languages considered an asset.
