Job Description


Are you passionate about technology and eager to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, collaborative environment? Join one of our innovative squads at Sopra Steria as a Business Continuity Intern, where you’ll contribute to the development and optimization of cutting-edge services.

Our squads work on a variety of impactful solutions, including:

  • Unix and VMware patching automation
  • Internal web portals
  • Cloud-native applications
  • API frontends
  • CI/CD pipelines and orchestration tools

Your Responsibilities:

BCP Governance/Strategy

  • Develop, implement, and maintain IT business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for all business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • Ensure IT resilience strategies align with business objectives and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure IT BC/DR strategies comply with industry regulations and best practices (e.g., ISO 22301, NIST, GDPR).
  • Work closely with IT infrastructure, security, and business teams to enhance continuity measures.

Business Impact Analysis

  • Conduct BIA workshops
  • Define priority services and dependencies between services
  • Define recovery time objectives (RTO) and recovery point objectives (RPO) for IT services

Disaster Recovery Exercises

  • Assist in defining and planning DR tests/exercises
  • Draft DR reports and monitor action plans
  • Update DR procedures based on the results of DR tests

Awareness/Training

  • Update the training support for new joiners.
  • Train priority staff in their roles and responsibilities within the BCP.
  • Prepare and assist the crisis simulation


Qualifications


Technical Skills

  • Understanding of BCP / DR / Crisis Management concepts
  • Knowledge of BIA methodology
  • Understanding of operational risks
  • Ability to read and interpret a risk assessment
  • Basic knowledge of incident vs crisis escalation
  • Basic cybersecurity fundamentals

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication skills, able to explain technical concepts clearly
  • Proactive and eager to learn, with a structured and self-organized approach
  • Comfortable seeking information and collaborating across teams


Education

Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field

Fluency in English & French (written and spoken); other European languages are a plus


Location

The internship will take place in Leudelange (our premises)/ or Cloche d'Or (client's location), at the heart of technological innovation in Luxembourg.
