Internship as Composite Materials & Advanced Manufacturing
GRADEL Group is medium sized with products space & defence, nuclear, glass industry with 70
employees. For our company GRADEL LW, which is currently under development in sustainable
lightweight design & production, destinated to versatile market segments (e.g. space and defence,
aeronautic, automotive, architecture, consumer goods), we are searching an intern in material
sciences for supporting the development of the activity with our new and unique composite
manufacturing process commercialised under the brand name Gradel Robotic Additive Manufacturing
(GRAM), an endless filament 3D winding process.
Tasks:
- undertaking relevant research
- developing, modifying, testing and evaluating composite materials
- production process calibration and optimization
- providing technical advice about the suitability of materials and their sustainability
- development and diagnosing faults
- development of maintenance and repairs process
- overseeing, calibration and development of operational quality control processes
- advising on, planning and organising inspections,
- liaising with suppliers, customers and manufacturing/development staff
Profile:
- Masterβs student in material sciences with focus on composite
- Good knowledge in material sciences and good skills in R&D
- Knowledge in destructive and non-destructive testing is considered as an asset
- Practical approach, problem solving
- Knowledge about composite production processes, calibration and optimization
- Possess analytical skills, organisational skills, confidence, attention to the detail
- Innovative and creative
- Good Team player, and able to work under pressure
- Language skills: fluent in English. Other languages (French/German) are considered as
