The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its EIB Global Directorate β Corporate Finance and Global Activities Department β Corporates Division, at its headquarters in Luxembourg: TRAINEES
Duration: 6 months (fixed start date: 1st September/October 2025)

Please note that the Programme is created under the Financial Inclusion Fund (FIF) and is open to young nationals from one of the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) Region (Algeria, Egypt, Palestine, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco and Tunisia) and ACP (Africa, Caribbean and Pacific) Region, all 79 ACP Partner Countries (please see Provisions section).
Please note that you are requested to limit your applications to a maximum of three traineeship publications. We will only consider and retain the first three applications submitted.
Objective of the traineeship
You will provide support to the EIB Global Corporate Finance Division's regular project development and approval processes in particular in assessing potential clientβs creditworthiness for operations outside of the EU. The Division's main task is to develop corporate lending activities that support EU development, cooperation policies and related priorities outside the European Union.
Responsibilities
Under the close supervision of the respective Loan Officer, you will be responsible for drafting the Financial Note of the prospective clients identified by the Loan Officer. You are expected to participate to various internal meetings with the different services of the Bank (in particular with the Credit risk department counterparts) as well as meetings with the prospective clients. In addition, you will be asked to provide relevant inputs in various internal notes and documents related to the projects you will be responsible of.
Academic qualifications and professional skills
Final year of studies or University degree of a MENA/ACP partner country (preferably Masters degree) in economic studies or in Business Management, with a major in Financial analysis or Corporate Finance.
You are expected to be familiar with financial analysis. Prior experience or additional studies (such as CFA I level) in that field would be a plus.
Knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools.
- Excellent levels of written and spoken English. Knowledge of French or Spanish would be an advantage.
