The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Finance Directorate (FI) – Strategy, Policies & Business Support Department (SPBS) – Financial Policies & Methodologies Division (FPM) and Systems & Data Management Division (SDM), at its headquarters in Luxembourg: TRAINEE
Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st March/April 2025)

Objective of the traineeship
The objective is to provide you with practical experience in the Financial Policies and with valuable insight into the impact of regulatory changes.
Key Learning Areas:
- Exposure to regulatory developments, including key regulations, industry standards, and best banking practices.
- Understanding how these regulations affect the bank’s operations.
Your tasks:
- Sourcing weekly regulatory updates.
- Filtering and selecting relevant information.

Preparing clear summaries for internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities will be to:

Conduct weekly monitoring of regulatory updates.
-
Identify key regulatory developments and prepare summaries for internal stakeholders.

Assist in updating the Contingency Funding Plan.

Ensure accuracy of financial data related to covered bond programs.

Collaborate with team members and perform tasks under the supervision of FPM (Financial Policies and Methodologies) and SDM (Systems and Data Management) Officers, contributing to regulatory and financial activities.
Academic qualifications and professional skills
-
Final year of studies or University degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related fields.

Strong ability to draft documents in English.

Ability to quickly grasp new information and understand both regulatory and operational implications.

Knowledge of financial instruments such as fixed-income securities, is an advantage.

Proficiency in Excel is a plus.

Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.

Patience and interest in reading and analyzing financial regulatory documents.

Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English. Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantgage.
