Job Description
The role
We have an great opportunity within our Private Banking team at Handelsbanken Luxembourg Branch.
Established in 1978, Handelsbanken Luxembourg Branch is part of Handelsbanken Global Banking. We support the Bank’s customers in our focus markets — primarily Sweden and Norway — with their international business. The Branch’s core activities are Private Banking (Discretionary Portfolio Management and Investment/Execution-Only Services) and mortgage lending in Spain, Portugal, and France.
We are now looking for a Junior Account Manager to join our Investment Services team — someone who is team player, willing to take on a vast array of tasks and responsibilities.
This position reports to the Deputy Head of Private Banking.
The main responsibilities will be the following:
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Investment Specialists
- Handle and monitor client orders, ensuring timely and accurate execution
- Manage and maintain relationships with less complex clients
- Follow up on client requests and ensure a high level of service quality
- Act as a backup for the Middle Office when needed – tasks include for example making payments, client contact, FX payments, statements etc
- Liaise with internal departments (Mortgages, Operations, Compliance, Legal, etc.) to ensure smooth execution of tasks
- Adhere to all regulatory processes and procedures, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail
Skills & Requirements
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of banking experience, preferably with some exposure to and interest in the financial markets, and is keen to expand their knowledge of Private Banking in an international environment. Fluency in English and Swedish or Norwegian is required.
As a trusted partner, you will regularly interact with Handelsbanken branches in other countries and maintain professional contact with clients.
You should also have:
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Solid administrative abilities and structured working methods
- A genuine interest in learning all aspects of Private Banking in Luxembourg
- A client-focused mindset
- SwedSec or equivalent certification
- A collaborative attitude and willingness to contribute to the team’s success
- The ability to work both independently and within a multicultural team
- Strong communication skills in English and Swedish/Norwegian
