The European Investment Fund (EIF) is seeking to recruit for its Guarantee Eligibility Services Unit of the Guarantee Services Division, within the Investment Office, at its headquarters in Luxembourg, a Trainee – Guarantee Eligibility Services.

Specific Post Environment:
The Guarantee Eligibility Services (GES) Unit is part of the Guarantees Services Division within the Investment Office. It is responsible for monitoring financial intermediaries’ compliance with eligibility requirements at the level of final beneficiaries and final beneficiary transactions, including the design and implementation of controls over the related transaction data.

Your overall objective will be to:
Support the digitalization and streamlining of eligibility monitoring and intermediary onboarding processes through the integration of Microsoft 365 and AI-enabled solutions.
Contribute to the preparation of operational guidance and internal knowledge tools aimed at improving consistency, efficiency and responsiveness in support provided to financial intermediaries.
Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of a dedicated GES Officer, and in close cooperation with the relevant GPS Officer, you shall:
Support the integration of Microsoft 365 tools, including SharePoint, Power Automate and Copilot-based solutions, into selected eligibility monitoring and onboarding workstreams.
Assist in the preparation, structuring and maintenance of reporting and operational guidance materials for financial intermediaries, including content hosted on client-facing or internal knowledge platforms.
Contribute to the development, testing and enrichment of AI-enabled tools and knowledge repositories designed to support internal teams in eligibility and operational matters.
Expected outcome:
Delivery of at least one structured digital solution or workflow enhancement supporting eligibility monitoring or intermediary onboarding activities.
Preparation of draft operational and reporting guidance, together with supporting technical documentation, for at least one guarantee-related process or facility.
Contribution to the setup or enrichment of an internal knowledge repository and/or AI-enabled support tool aimed at improving consistency and response time in client support activities.
Qualifications:
University degree (or ongoing studies) in AI, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Data Science, Finance, Economics or another relevant discipline. Candidates may be enrolled in the final year of a Master’s degree.
Academic or practical exposure to digital process improvement, AI-enabled tools, automation, data analysis or knowledge management would be an advantage.
Good knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, notably Excel, SharePoint, Teams and PowerPoint. Exposure to Power Automate and Power Apps would be considered an asset.
Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English. Good command of another EU language would be an advantage.
Good knowledge of Copilot AI concepts, including Copilot Studio, with an interest in further developing practical skills in AI-supported solutions.
Previous exposure to the creation or configuration of Copilot-based AI agents, chatbots or similar automation tools as well as interest in automating tasks and supporting client-facing operational processes, including through data-driven tools and AI-supported solutions.
Understanding of, or exposure to, machine-learning concepts and data-heavy workflows would be an advantage.
Good knowledge of project‑management principles, methods, and practices.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to translate complex operational requirements into structured AI‑supported solutions.
